In Lisbon, there are a few restaurants or eating houses located above decent-looking taverns, places with the heavy, domestic look of restaurants in towns far from any rail line. These second-story eateries, usually empty except on Sundays, frequently contain curious types whose faces are not interesting but who constitute a series of digressions from life.
During a certain period of my life, a desire for peace and low prices made me a regular at one of these second-story restaurants. It happened that when I would come in to eat at around seven o'clock, I would almost always see an individual whose appearance at first did not interest me but little by little did begin to interest me...

The Pessoa is very well run to make you feel extremely welcome and at home, and breakfast in the bakery a couple of doors up made you feel a real part of Lisbon during your stay, as well as getting a great breakfast. Wunderbar mittendrin im Trubel der Stadt.
Die Lage mitten im Szeneviertel Chiado ist toll, alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. In unmittelbarer Nähe Cafes, Restaurants, Theater, Museen, kleine Läden, Metro, Bus etc. Man wird sehr freundlich empfangen und fühlt sich gleich willkommen. Da "Pessoa-Universum geschaffen.

Character, excellent location, comfortable beds are all part of the pluses of the Pessoa.

The place has character and there is a lovely lounge to sit and enjoy tea/coffee, etc. with a window overlooking the Largo do Carmo where music groups often seem to be playing and there are magazines, etc. to read. The Lisbon under Stars show (great show) is across the plaza. The location is super convenient to everything. The bed was the most comfortable of any of the places I stayed. And, I learned about Pessoa!
