Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa

(1888-1935), poet, writer, translator, advertiser, astrologer, inventor, businessman, commercial correspondent, precursor of Portuguese modernism. Pessoa becomes an icon of modernist culture in Portugal and in Lisbon in particular, the city where he was born, inspiring generations in the various arts around the world.
Around 1910, this historic and secular house, marks a stage in the life of the young 22-year-old Pessoa, with his recent publishing business “Empreza Íbis, Typographica e Editora” closed for bankruptcy and with little money, he rents a room in this home, living alone,
it will be the first of many in Lisbon.
A few years later, Pessoa creates the most striking characters in his vast literary estate, Bernardo Soares, the office worker, Ricardo Reis, the doctor, Alberto Caeiro, without a profession, and Álvaro de Campos, the naval engineer.
A fragment of Pessoa's life and imaginary world in a house where he lived and worked,
